All is wave

All is wave

As waves were crashing on the shore

And roaring out their song

There came to me an angel bright

And mighty words along

Of which strange beauty I’ve tried in vain

In sane words to convey

And since have haunted deep my heart

And thrill me to this day

In softly chanting foam I heard

Mortality aloud

Reminding me that soon my soul

Would leave this fleshly shroud

Just as the waves, who roll so quickly

Back into the sea

My flesh to Dust, my soul to God

Would join Eternity

And thence, what comfort will I find

In pleasures of this Earth?

For what will I have toiled about?

What will have been my worth?

Which consolation can there be

Before the mortal Fate?

What dreadful lengths of alien Time

Must frail Man tolerate?

The countless years of burning Hell?

Or empty Void’s domain?

Or yet, a timeless pleasure dream

Again, and yet, again?

My limbs went limp, I tried to blind

Myself from such a sight

When suddenly, the angel showed

A view of pure delight

Time began to lose its sense

As moments bound to one

I felt a peace unspeakable

That left my mind as stunned

As waves emerge in space and time

From calm, eternal Sea

Does Man from Dust and God’s breath rise

To live, to love, to be

The wave is lent its little life

So Sea’s own life proceeds

As such a wave can’t truly die

When life it will concede

For Life was never of its own

To proudly boast about

A gift received and carried on

And ever pouring out

As such a man can never die

Who is already dead

But God will then be life in him

And he may join the thread

Of endless Love that weaves the Forms

From whence he came to be

Becoming one with endless Love

He may, at last, be free
